Chef Sam... Fan Favorite

Congratulations to Chef Sam

In case you missed it. Sam was told he won the Fan Favorite, during the " Watch What Happens" post show. He was told he would be talking with the winner and did not realize it was him until Andy presented him with the check. Click HERE to view his win.

Thanks for the recent photo Sam.

What a crock. He never would have won if we all saw Marcel's assault BEFORE voting. His win was tainted.

Love you Sam. Glad to see my votes counted. Best of luck!!!!

Sam as fan favorite? I guess all his begging on MySpace paid off.

EWWWWWW! WTF??! Sam is the 'fan favorite??' Really? Seriously?

God. My faith in humanity has expired.

Sam sux...as for "fan favorite" the only people that actually bother to vote in those "polls" are 300 pound shut ins...so naturally they wouldn't understand that actual Top Chef food is beyond what Sizzler or Chili's offers.. and with Sam always begging on Myspace cuz he's unemployed...whateva.

You people are out of control (not to mention mean)

Sam, congrats! I did not vote (and not b/c I weigh 165) because I really had a hard time choosing. I am glad you won - you would have been one of my non-300 lb votes (sarcasm the F off!)

PS: If they're shut ins, how do they get to Sizzler?

HOLY COW PEOPLE, get a grip on reality! Sam won because more people liked him, period. And by making derogatory remarks about a persons weight or supposedly handicapped situation is taking you to an even lower level then what you are accusing others of being on. Oh, by the way......I love Chili's Steak & Portobella Fajitas and I don't weigh 300 pounds.

YUCK Sam did not deserve to win, he's nothing but a liar and a baby, and a back stabber and were glad to see him go! Way to go Marcel.

I was not surprised by Sam's win...Congrats! People have sort of seen him a chill and he realy never participated in the Marcel hate...with the acception of his confrontation...but he never really stopped it either....So I'm really neither here nor there. And no I didn't vote...because I didn't like anyone more or less than anyone else.

The one that I thought was funny was the poll...who do you want to see go home?...after reading the boards and our blog I was surprised to see Marcel still leading the pack as the most hated. There seems to be a whole bunch of Marcel Love or even support floating around but then maybe us computer geeks don't represent the masses.

Personally I found Elia's attitude last night the most irritating and distracted from the task at hand.

I guess the judges felt that since Sam was the fan fave that they didn't need to have him around for the finals. They only kept Marcel around because he causes such drama. He's NOT the best chef - the only thing he's consistent on are those FOAMS. The true Top Chef should be someone who has been consistent and improved during the show. SAM is the only one that fits that mold. I will not watch the final episode as it is apparent that the judges were swayed by what they think viewers want to see, hence, better ratings. Its Top CHEF, not Top DRAMA.

Once again, Sam was fan favorite because they couldn't give Marcel $110,000.

At 8:20 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Once again, you're an idiot. Marcel is only loved by the minority of people who watch. The ones who are too stupid to realize this is a reality show.

Sam "won" because he hired internet hackers to push up the number of votes. Isn't it obvious?! He is a cheeeter!

Sam was not my choice for fan favorite, but I can completely believe and understand how he won. He's a good cook, he's sexy and given the fact that there were two camps in the final four - the Marcels and the anti-Marcels - he had the best personality when compared with Ilan or Elia.

So with that, I say congrats to Sam. I hope you treat Marcel fairly in the finale.

"What a crock. He never would have won if we all saw Marcel's assault BEFORE voting. His win was tainted."

I've been around many a party where people are drinking and someone decides to pull a prank that goes horribly wrong and tempers flare, punches are thrown and things go awry. The next day, the morons who came up with the idea apologized to the person who was on the receiving end, and all is well.

Marcel wasn't "assaulted" in a criminal way, there was no "mens rea" involved. It was a juvenile, stupid and alcohol fueled prank.

I give credit to Marcel for recognizing this and moving on, just as I give credit to the others for admitting their stupid behavior.

I'm not afraid to say Sam was my season favorite.

But I'm also not one, nor ever have been, to attack the other contestants for not being a favorite. (Um, well, I may have let a tiny peep out or two).

I am going to call out the posters who call the contestants foul names. Come on... is that really called for?

Anyway, like it or not, I was glad to see Sam walk away with the fan favorite. And like last season's final contestants, I'm sure he's going to just fine, as will the others.

He was, and is, Top Chef season two in my book.

Oh, and by the way, I'm not sure where the comments came about those who voted for Sam being overweight, etc.

So for the record, I'm a tall, active, attractive red-head. Neither wheel chair bound or 300 lbs. My pic on MySpace proves that.

Sam has NEVER apologized to Marcel for the way he treated him. Until Sam tells Marcels "I'm sorry" and accepts responsibility for his actions, he will still be a tool and a douchebag.

To quote anon 11:10:

"Sam has NEVER apologized to Marcel for the way he treated him."

No one (save Sam and Marcel)knows this to be true. I'm sure Sam must've made amends at some point because Marcel picked him at the finale AND in an interview, mentions something about seeing him in New York when the show was over. If Marcel thinks Sam's ok and Marcel is the one Sam yelled at, why is there still so much venom for Sam?

I am a Marcel supporter and I was pretty upset by the "Sins" episode and by "Clippergate" and all the rest. As angry as I was, I still think Sam is basically a decent guy who got caught up in a lot of bad moments.

I will add also that I agree wholeheartedly with peachpie. Everyone needs to stop the namecalling. It doesn't breed intelligent discussion, it just breeds more anger. Who needs it?

Have you listened to Sam's recent CHOW interview? Or read his BRAVO interview with Andy Cohen? Or his interview with NEW YORK magazine?

Sam is not sorry or apologetic. Not at all. He's made several public statements re: clippergate, and NONE of them express ANY remorse for his own actions.

In fact, quite the opposite. Sam has described at length why Marcel was so annoying, and how much he provoked everyone with his lousy attitude. He said he never intervened when Marcel was being held down because Marcel was never hurt and he didn't fight back. Sam said it was a joke, a prank.

Sam also said he was worried that Marcel was going to attack them with a baseball bat - that's why he sent Ilan after him with a camera.

Sam also accused Marcel of smuggling in contraband ingredients like xantham and agar. He claims the producers had to confiscate them from Marcel.

And the list of Sam's gripes goes on and on...

Before you make ASS U Mptions about Sam's sudden redemption re: Marcel, read all his recent interviews.

Just because Marcel is a forgiving and easy-going person, don't assume that Sam has done anything to make amends. There's no indication that he has. His own words show otherwise.

Well, anon 1:44, "just because Marcel is a forgiving and easy-going person" doesn't mean I can't be one too, right? Or do I have to stay vindictive simply because I like Marcel?

At 4:08 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Maybe if Sam and Elia stop acting so vindictive in their interviews, the Marcel fans will forgive them. A public statement of remorse would be a good start.

i'm done with sam. i could really care less about what he has to say at this point. he's definitely not my fave.

about the "polls", it really bothers me when these shows make you pay to vote. they should offer online voting as well. i'm too cheap to spend money on texting. although, i understand that it helps to prevent people voting 10,000 times.

OK, wow, I totally missed the "Watch What Happens" post show. It didn't record on my Tivo. Did I miss anything other than Sam getting a check?

Sam backed up Elia's story about Marcel using contraband ingredients like xanthan and agar. They are forbidden in their contract from bringing outside materials. The producers had to confiscate them from Marcel in the middle of the competition.

Sam also said that he's thinking of opening up a restaurant with Elia.

At 5:53 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

i watched the post show, i don't remember sam saying that he would open a restaurant with elia. anyway, you can watch it yourself on bravo's website.

At 6:12 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Sorry, that was his CHOW interview. A Sam&Elia restaurant sounds awesome!

At 11:48 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

no worries. so, the chow interview with sam is good?

At 1:25 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

The CHOW interviews are great! Way better than Andy's interview. Except Sam mumbles a lot.

At 4:32 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

thanks, i'll check it out.
