HAHAHAHAHA!!!! Good riddance. Karma bit them in the ass.

So glad those two evil bullies got tossed. Too bad they didn't kick Ilan off too.

Go Marcel!!

Tom is the man! And Sam will always be that guy.

Team Marcel all the way!

Elia looked like an idiot. Since when is moving a pan considered "cheating"? WTF???? Bitch was grasping at straws. Even the judges thought she was a joke.

The stunned look on Sam's smug face was priceless. So freaking funny!

TEAM MARCEL!

yes glad to see them go, and next Ilan, Elia is a back stabber bitch, and Marcel you go man! You kicked all there butts!

I can't believe those cowardly bitches. I am actually furious. Furious!!

Accusing Marcel of cheating? Excuse me? He moved a fucking steamer. Perhaps if you weren't bitching the whole time, ELIA, you would have heard him ask. So glad she's gone.

Elia, you are a whiny pathetic two faced bitch who can't handle the slightest criticism or adversity, and you look silly in this stage of hair growth. Why were you Marcel's only friend if he cheated throughout the competition? How friendly were you when you laughed while he was pinned to the ground, and then later mocked him? You make a last minute cheating allegation, but it's hard to give examples-- even if Marcel was annoying in mysterious ways which are invisible -- that's still not cheating!

Very interesting. In their Chow interviews Elia admits that the head shaving came after the attack on Marcel but Sam is still towing to the company line that the head shaving was before the attack.

Sam is a liar. And Elia is an idiot.

I'm really appalled at the anti-Marcel messages left at the Bravo website on the various judges' blogs. Are there really that many sheeple out there?
I really don't care who wins at this point. I'll watch, but not with the anticipation of last year. I'd cheer for Tiffani if she were to make an unexpected comeback.

What gets me is how nobody in this crowd ever learns anything. It's the finale for pete's sake, and what do we get? Ilan is afraid for himself so he convinces the others to blame Marcel. Elia agrees like a weak-willed bitter harpy. And Sam quietly instigates by offering 'cheating' as a solution, but he weasels out in the end. Shocking. *eyeroll*

I loved how the judges, esp. Tom and Padma, smacked them down at the end. I hope Marcel beats down Ilan's punk ass (but Bravo will probably reward Ilan's asinine behavior).

Sam, it's not too late for you, you've got some redeeming qualities and can turn it around to be a great chef. Just stop stirring the pot and take some accountability, dude. Elia, you'll do fine as long as you stick to throwing dinner parties for your friends - you won't have to ever deal with any criticism again. Clearly, you can't handle it.

Elia What friends? SHe doesn't know what it means to be a friend, she a follower and she followed Ilan, Sam, Betty and the rest in hating Marcel, I am so glad she is gone. She is one sorry excuse of a cook, never took any critism from anyone well, and then acts like miss no it all and now blames everything on Marcel since Ilan and Sam want her as a friend, well good riddance to her and Sam, and if Ilan wins with his spanish dishes I won't be happy, I do think Sam a better cook but hey I hate him and Ilan for their poor behavior.

I really do not understand why all these people like Marcel. I am very surprised.... HELLO the other people on the show didn't like him for a reason.

At 5:13 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

They don't like Marcel for reasons that they can't even provide when asked.

"They don't like Marcel for reasons that they can't even provide when asked."

Well, I can speak for why I don't care for Marcel. He is snide. He is selfish. He believes the world revolves or should revolve around him. He thinks his ideas are "avant-garde" when they are, in fact, overdone. He is arrogant.

I have a feeling that, since many of the other contestants found him annoying it is because he IS annoying. He certainly wasn't a threat, after all, if you compare him against Sam and Ilan, you will see that those two performed much better.

Certainly the others should have just ignored him, but then again, it's almost impossible to ignore obnoxious behavior for any extended period of time.

I for one, am glad that Marcel is in the finale. If he wins, then every restaurant critic will go to his restaurant in order to critize his food. Foam will only carry you so far.

Marcel is in the "worst" group

Episode 2:
Marcel is on the losing Team Korea

Episode 3:

Episode 5:
Sam and Cliff are one of the top two teams. Marcel and Frank do not place

Episode 6:

you're spot on. all these people on the blogs are HYPOCRITS. You claim it should be about the food, but if thats the case, Marcel should not be in the finals. The guy has consistently performed badly, whereas Sam and Ilan have consistently performed well. Someone on one of these posts said "They will probably reward Ilans asinine behavior." No, they will probably reward his GOOD COOKING. If its about the food, Ilan should win. If you think Marcel should win, then you bought into what bravo was selling, and thats the drama.

Uh, I think some important info was left out of that recap...

Episode 1:
Marcel was voted in the bottom four by the other chefs, but the judges all agree he belonged in the middle, not the bottom.

Episode 2:
Marcel was on the losing team, but judges considered eliminating Frank, Marisa, and Otto before Otto offed himself.

Episode 3:
Marcel finishes in the middle

Episode 4:
Marcel is on the winning team. Period. The judges didn't declare a loser because Sam, who was in the bottom three for making the worst tasting food, accused everyone of cheating.

Episode 5:
--

Episode 6:
This was just an incredibly lame episode where only half the chefs had to cook. Probably because the crappy Kenmore appliances broke down. Several contestants in their post-show interviews, not just Elia, question the validity of this episode's QF challenge because they didn't like how some of the winning dishes tasted.

Episode 7:
--

Episode 8:
--

Episode 9:
Marcel is in the bottom three because his dessert wasn't lusty enough, but none of the judges complain about the flavor of his dish. Padma didn't care for the foam, but she did like the flavor, and guest judge Ted Allen didn't seem to think Marcel was one of the worst. Also, Marcel was a huge hit at the dinner party, even if Debi Mazar thinks he needs more sex.

Episode 10:
The guest judge complains that Marcel served raw and/or undercooked chicken. On his blog Chef Tom admits the chicken was neither raw nor undercooked. It only appeared raw because of how it was prepared. Marcel is spared on this episode because his tempura vegetables were considered the best dish by the judges as well as several customers.

Episode 11:
The judges talk out of both sides of their mouths, praising the food one minute but complaining about nitpicky things the next. Cliff was hands down the loser on this challenge, but DQ's himself by acting like a stupid bullying ass.

Episode 12:
Marcel knocked it out of the park. His food was considered the best, and the judges and tasters seemed amused by his presentation even though whiney Elia kept rolling her eyes.

Cheers!

I wish Sam had gone on to the finale instead of Ilan, but I'm not a judge or a food critic or employed by Bravo, so my vote doesn't count.

I do wish Sam the best. Whatever happened (and I'm pro-Marcel), he deserves just that. It's my opinion he's a good guy overall.

Elia, I hope you someday find peace and are able to lose without consequently spewing such bitterness and hate. It's a sign of a very unhappy person and for that reason, I feel for her. She and Betty are the ones I pity most on the show. Both of them are very sad.

True, regarding the recaps. However, in Episode 4, Betty cheated. Period. And Marcel did not come up with the pizza idea. Betty did, and Frank prepared it. Sam had every right to point out the fact that some others were not following their original plan. After all, Tom asked Sam why he didn't add yogurt. Sam said because he thought he couldn't change the recipe, though others did. If the roles were reversed, and Marcel was on the losing team, you would be cheering him on for pointing this out to the judges, and you know it.

Marcel's chicken was "medium rare". You cannot serve chicken that is anything other than well-done due to the potential for Salmonella poisoning. Tom C. is covering his butt. As far as redeeming himself with Tempura veggies, geez, how hard is it to make those? Hardly original nor a risk.

Marcel's last dish looked pretty, and I'm sure tasted great. He got lucky and hit a home run. I just hope that when you dine in his restaurant that you "get lucky" and don't eat on a day where his sous chefs are ticked off at his obnoxious attitude and decide to sabotage the cuisine.

Mmmm, mmmmm. Le Poulet Salmonella avec Foam du Cafe au Lait.

"Tom is the man! And Sam will always be that guy."

How true! Sam will always be "that guy" who was the Fan Favorite. He will always be "that guy" who was more consistant than the two finalists. He will always be "that guy" who was making the talk show rounds this morning. He will always be "that guy" that was voted "one of the sexiest chefs in NYC" (an enormous city, by the way, with a gazillion chefs).

Oh, how I would LOVE to be "that guy" Sam!

you've posted the same remark with the same error in several blogs, so I can't resist pointing out to you that it's hypocritEs.

"Well, I can speak for why I don't care for Marcel. He is snide. He is selfish. He believes the world revolves or should revolve around him. He thinks his ideas are "avant-garde" when they are, in fact, overdone. He is arrogant."

He's selfish, so he helped Betty with her creme brulees even though she had screamed at him the episode before.
He's selfish so he tried to encourage Elia when she was threatening to serve shots of vinegar. And he served the wine for Sam during the birthday party.
the alleged "yelling" incident was not his fault -- it was a producer's not wanting Betty to go out.

I'll also note trusted sources like LeeAnne, who wrote in her blog that she didn't understand the hate, and the executive producer, who said the same thing.
And Harold must not be watching the same show you are, because he's been pretty down on the behavior of the chefs. (He did chide Marcel for two instances -- his wankery when Betty was trying to cook, and not helping Sam with his plating during the Santa Barbara episode. )

I've said in the past that I had been rooting for Elia up until these last two episodes, but all the Marcel hate is making me want to root for him. Otherwise I don't give a flying eff who wins. I just want this season over and for Season 3 to be like the original one.

Lou,

Had Marcel NOT helped out any of the chefs, he would have failed the competition. To NOT help out would have been a strategic error. I never said he was "stupid". I'm sure you see that was in his best interest, right? They all had no choice but to be helpful.

Are you going to sit there and tell me that the other contestants decided to gang up on Marcel because he was "such a damn nice guy"? That defies logic.

You can try to "point out" my "hypocricy" all you like. It ain't there. I've said all of the contestants have character flaws. How is that hypocritical?

I saw the other contestants act genuinely happy for others when they won. I never saw that from Marcel. That alone is distasteful to me. From day one Marcel dished it out in a manner that was more severe than many of the others.

He obviously wouldn't dish it out if he couldn't take it, now would he?

Oh, and Lou, like Harold and Lee Ann (on Bravo's dime) would say anything overly derogatory about any of the Top Chef contestants publicly.

That's like Tony Snow, the White House spokesman dissing the Republican Party. Ain't gonna happen.
