Could We Recommend A Guest Judge For Season 4?
From Scripps Howard News Service - Parent company to the Food Network, the following article had an interesting quote from Alton Brown.
Make no mistake, said Brown, "The Next Iron Chef" isn't a run-of-the-mill reality, cooking show. This has been a food fight with flair between hardened experts -- so don't expect another version of Bravo's "Top Chef."
"Those people are one step up from Denny's," said a fiery Brown. "My mom could do that. There's nothing cheesy or cheap about (Iron Chef)."

The Next Iron Chef is a blatant rip off of Top Chef. How Brown can say that last season's contestants were one step up from Denny's is beyond me. He needs to do his homework.
I love all these shows (Top Chef, Iron Chef America, Next Iron Chef) for similar reasons. How can anyone accuse one of ripping off another? That's what networks do, folks. You could say that Top Chef was inspired by the whole phenomenon of the Food Network.
But if I had to compare the skills of Iron Chefs with Top Chefs, I'd have to agree with Alton. The Top Chef contestants aren't in the same league -- but that's why they are on the show! They want to BE that good. Eventually.

WHAT A CROCK!!! I am so tired of A.B. and his self important snide attitude. It was very apparent that he dosnt have what it takes to be a chef, with the cooking demo he did on Emerils show. As for the format of the next iron chef, it is nothing more than a thinly desguised copy of Top Chef.
Judging by the hoops that these professional chef contestants are made to jump through I am embarrassed for them.
why couldnt they share their quick fire recipes with us.... especially hungs fish of which he wouldnt share his recipe. and those burgers from the other challenge.
