Anthony Bourdain Returns To Austin Today!

Anthony Bourdain ,book-tour appearances, is today, Oct. 20, at the Paramount. Knowing this will be hilarious and entertaining, the Austin Chronicle interviewed Bourdain via e-mail.

Click HERE to learn the answers to questions like.

1. Which of your corps de cuisine pals got the rest of the group roped into the Top Chef thing? Have you found it enjoyable?

2. Your criticism of the dishes on Top Chef was much more cutthroat and vicious than the kiddos expected. ... Was this by decree from the producers, or did you feel a need to serve a wake-up call to the combatants?

and much more.

Thanks Nutmeg

Could We Recommend A Guest Judge For Season 4?

From Scripps Howard News Service - Parent company to the Food Network, the following article had an interesting quote from Alton Brown.

Make no mistake, said Brown, "The Next Iron Chef" isn't a run-of-the-mill reality, cooking show. This has been a food fight with flair between hardened experts -- so don't expect another version of Bravo's "Top Chef."
"Those people are one step up from Denny's," said a fiery Brown. "My mom could do that. There's nothing cheesy or cheap about (Iron Chef)."

Click HERE to read "Food fight for the next Iron Chef".

We suggest Alton come and be one of the guest judges for season 4.

Chow Sums It Up

CHOW gathered five media experts who were soaked in Top Chef juice for this entire season: Josh Ozersky of Grub Street,

OMG - our BFF Charlus and Miss XaXa of Amuse-Biatch,

and Stephanie V. W. Lucianovic a.k.a. Keckler of Television Without Pity, and Meredith Arthur, who conducted most of the interviews for CHOW.

They discuss whether this was the best season ever, the merits of skill versus passion, and if Top Chef bears any resemblance to My Fair Lady. Plus: Wouldn’t the show be better with some hot sex? And if so, who would have hooked up?
