New Places In New York City

He's Back!!!

One of our favorite Chefs, Dave Martin, from Season 1 has opened a new place. "Crave" on 42nd. Crave is a showcase for his updated comfort cooking.

Dave's new place is a casual bistro located on the ground floor of River Place – one of the many new high-rise apartment buildings dotting West 42nd Street.

Dave is serving up moderately priced American fare such as "The $20 Hanger Steak and Fries" and "Dave's Black Truffle Mac 'n' Cheese" ($14). Yea!!! Remember this is the dish that helped make his name on Top Chef. Currently Crave is open for dinner and a weekend brunch is expected to launch by year's end.

MSNBC is reporting that chef Tom Colicchio's latest restaurant, 'Wichcraft, opens in Rockefeller Center this week. If you are unable to visit the big apple, Chef Tom is sharing his French onion soup grilled cheese signature sandwich recipe with us.

The culinary education program at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay is the place to be in January. From the PR Web press release, " The tradition of culinary enlightenment continues at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay this January with the resort's newest series of enhanced cooking classes and dining experiences, "Inside the Kitchen," powered by Viking and a fundraiser for Meals On Wheels of San Francisco, Inc. Overnight guests and members of the community are invited to interact and learn from guest instructors including Laurence Jossel of Nopa, Staffan Terje of Perbacco, Traci Des Jardins and Eugenio Jardim of Jardinière, and Hung Huynh, the winner from season three of Bravo's Top Chef. Classes are offered every other Sunday, January 6 through April 27, 4 to 6 p.m."

Chef Tom Makes The List

We have known it for 3 seasons...

but now People magazine has added Chef Tom to the "Sexiest Men Alive" list. Matt Damon takes the top honor this year, but Tom was in the running with others such as Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, etc.

Chef Josie Update

On Friday, Chef Josie had to file a Civilian Complaint today against the Nassau County Police Department alleging that the Department acted improperly in the initial response to the vicious bias attack in Sea Cliff, on Long Island over Labor Day weekend against Chef Josie and her friend.
