Bouncing Baby Blais

It's a girl!

Home executive chef and "Top Chef" contestant Richard Blais and his wife Jazmin Zepeda welcomed little Riley Maddox Thursday. We hear Riley weighed in at 7.9 pounds and was 21 inches. The Atlanta couple got engaged after Zepeda trained Blais for and he completed the Peachtree Road Race in 2005.

Congrats Blais Family. I wonder if Top Chef took my advice and made the show slightly more Parent Contestant Friendly this season.

Season 1) No parents in the finals.

S2) No parents and 4 incredibly immature individuals in the finals.

S3) No parents in the finals.

S4) At least 2 parents in the Finals and only one really immature individual.

Yup, the "little Blais" was in the oven before Richard left to tape in October. I wonder if he knew about it, given the wife wasn't far along at all (esp. depending on when he left to tape).

I know they don't get much family interaction during taping time. At worst, he found out during taping. I wonder if that's why he made that remark after the kids' challenge about making some "little Blaises" when he got home.

Congrats to the Richard and Jazmine.

Wow, that was quick work! He only decided that he wanted children a few episodes ago!

Potty Mouth Princess makes a good point: it would be interesting to know when he found out. I wonder if he'll mention it during the final; she would have been far enough along by then that it would be OK to talk about it, right?
