Chef Dale Drops By BTC

Hi Chef Dale and welcome to Blogging Top Chef. We appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to answer our questions.

US: This has to be the most controversial episode since season 2. Fans are outraged at your dismissal. Can you tell us what went through your mind when Padma told you to pack your knives and go?
Dale: Well when Padma told me I was going home I just though to myself that I made a big mistake by being executive chef, should have let Lisa be that.

US: Does Lisa have dirty pictures of Andy Cohen or something? How the heck has she stayed on the show so long?
Dale: I really have no idea how she's still there and people like Zoi and Jen aren't.

US: You seemed to have worked well with most of the other chefs. Do you feel you are a team player?
Dale: I know I'm a team player, ask any of my chefs or cooks in my kitchen. This is not work but a competition, some people just aren't manageable.

US: It was great seeing some of the chefs again. Have you remained close with any of your fellow TC contestants?
Dale: I'm still friends with most of the NYC crew, matter of fact all the NYC boys went out for drinks. We're all cool.

US: Tell us something about you that would surprise us.
Dale: I'm pretty socially awkward.

US: Are there any charities or special projects you would to talk about?
Dale: Well I'm always looking to create good food , but besides that I'm looking to put out a screenplay about the restaurant life.

Thank you so much Chef Dale, stop by anytime.

Dale, I'm totally totally shocked. I was sure that someone else would be going home. Keep the fires burning...you made some awesome food this season!

Dale's dismissal shows just how shortsighted and WRONG the "judging" can be...Dale has won or been near the top in many challenges, while Lisa is most often at the bottom...and while one of Dale's dishes didn't work (the scallops), all of Lisa's food was inedible...They must be trying to keep all the women on purpose just to guarantee that a woman wins...Spike and Richard better watch out!

For irony, check out last night's Iron Chef America where honey was the secret ingredient...Cat Cora made a scalloip dish topped with a honey brittle that seemed identical to Dale's hated scallop dish...and the judge's there loved it...and I trust Jeffrey Steingarten's palate far more than I trust dippy padma's palate...Funny how it works on one network and not on another

Lisa is an angry b*tch, impossible to work with, and untalented as a chef. Spike is able to dodge a bullet every time by shifting the blame to someone else. Dale is the best chef of that whole team and I can't believe this elimination. I am so mad. In a show that purports to find the "top" it's definitely the wrong choice to eliminate Dale. Hopefully Lisa is next.

Wow, I was not surprised at all by the elimination. Yeah, Lisa made horrible food, but so did Dale. Also, he had a terrible attitude, just as bad as Lisa's. Also, Lisa didn't swear at the wait staff like Dale did. He may have been in the top, but that's no guarantee. Tre from Season 3 was sent packing because he was a terrible leader. If Tre was sent home, Dale should definitely be sent home. Not only did his food suck, but he didn't do anything to help the team work smoothly. As a chef, he needed to be a leader and he couldn't handle that. If he were smarter he could have avoided it by letting Lisa be exec. chef, but he fought for it.

Also, about only keeping the girls, Spike has been in the bottom more than any person remaining. I never expected him to get as far he did. For him to totally shirk responsibility by saying he was at the front of the house is BS. Stephanie contributed two dishes, (and actually made them for the most part) and was at the front of the house. Also, she seemed like much less of an asshat doing it.

Regarding the scallop, it looked disgusting. I trust Anthony Bourdain's palate more than Jeffrey Steingarten. Also, looking is far different from tasting the same. Honey has a hugely different flavor profile than butterscotch.
