My girlfriend and I always pick out the 10 chefs we consider "cannon fodder" as a way to liven up the early episodes. We're rarely wrong and have not been so far this season. The others we have pegged for the ax: Radhika, Melissa, Hosea, Jeff and Carla, leaving Ariane, Fabio, Stefan, Eugene and Jamie as the serious players.
You've rarely been wrong this season (there's only been 5 eliminations), and your certain that Sticky-rice Eugene and Sugar-bomb Ariane are serious players? I don't know what 'system' you and your girlfriend are using, but something tells me it's about to run off the rails.
Jeff, Radhika and Hosea appear to be much more secure than Eugene and Ariane. I would even venture to say that Carla is closer to that middle/top than Eugene, Ariane and Melissa. Fabio has been stronger in terms of personality than culinary expression. He's one of my picks for the finale, but he does have my concerned.
I guess we'll see.
I predict they'll refuse to send any of the horrible cheftestants home on the specious grounds that the show will AIR around X-mas.
I agree with anonymous. It's hard to believe that anyone sees Eugene, in particular, as a serious player. And even though Ariane has two Elimination wins and a Quickfire win, I still can't take her seriously. As soon as the chefs are asked to be innovative/original and team leaders (rather than players) she will fall on her face.
Serious players: Fabio, Stefan, Hosea, Jaimie, and Leah (who people seem to have forgotten), and, maybe, Jeff
Non-players: Eugene, Melissa, Carla, Ariane, and Radhika
