The Grove and Los Angeles Magazine have teamed up to bring you a FREE to the public cook off between Top Chef Season 2 contestant Betty Fraser and Season 5 contestant Stefan Ritcher on May 20th. Hosted by Zagat editor Merrill Shindler, this complimentary event is sure to satisfy even the most refined palates. See info below!
In other news, if you haven't already rsvped for our media reception at 5:30 p.m. (limited space) at the 4th annual "Tables of Ten: Dining for a Cause" to be held, Friday May 29th at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood , please do so soon! This event showcases the talents of 15 California chefs, as well as, tabletop exhibits created by leading designers and showrooms. This annual event is held to raise funds for Inner-City Arts, a non-profit organization that offers opportunities for at risk children to build artistic expression.

WHAT: Los Angeles magazine and The Grove present a tasteful evening of friendly competition between Top Chef’s contestants Betty and Stefan in the Snyder Diamond/Sub-Zero/Wolf Kitchen hosted by Merrill Shindler. The restaurants at The Grove will kick off the competition with mini cooking demonstrations and food samplings.

WHY: A cook-off between two Top Chef contestants. Betty and Stefan bring their different styles and tastes to Los Angeles’ table at The Grove’s gorgeous fountain setting. Betty is the co-owner of the Los Angeles eatery Grub Restaurant and As You Like It Catering. With her “tell it like it is” personality, unique sense of style, and boundless energy, her passion is beautifully presented with her known “California Comfort Food” cooking. Stefan, who was born in Finland, began his culinary training in Germany. He’s worked his way through Europe’s best kitchens and is now the owner of Stefan’s Catering in Santa Monica.
