Your Turn To Vote

The quick fire challenge this week was to create a TV dinner based on a popular TV show.

We have all had them... come on we know you have. Go ahead and raise your hand, no one you work with will see you here. The seven chefs created some fun and good looking TV dinners. That leads to this weeks question, " Which TV dinner would you like tonight?"

Top Chef Season 6 - Week 10 Results

And then there were seven. Throw them into Chef Tom's "Craft Steak" retaurant at the MGM, do not let them use meat, and let the drama begin.

Congratulations to Chef Kevin for the elimination win. Kevin, you are rolling buddy.

Wish To Chat Live With The Chefs?

You think our Chat room is fun!!! Here is an invite for tomorrow night.

Hi there!

I just started working with Fancast, and wanted to pass along some info I thought you and your fellow Top Chef fans might be interested in...we’re hosting a live chat each week with the latest ousted chef. Last week it was Laurine, she gave us some insider info on the show, and even divulged some of her cooking tricks-of-the-trade (I’ve included a quote below).

The chats are live each Thursday at 11:30 am EST / 9:30 am PST, and the content is entirely fan-driven — everyone can feel free to send in their own questions. Just wanted to pass along — let me know if you are interested in anything in particular, I’m always happy to see what I can do!

Best,

Lindsay M.

Hi guys,
Don't know if you saw this, but Gail Simmons was in NYC two weeks ago promoting some Australian cookies called Tim Tam. A BravoFan reader went and got to meet her. Cookies are pretty good, too. Also, don't know if you've read the news that the Top Chef finale filmed in Napa (not confirmed, but most likely true since judges, contestants and Andy Cohen all tweeted about being in Napa!)
Cheers, Maria

Are You Ready For Another Top Chef Show

From the New York Post:

Bravo sweetens the deal with 'Top Chef' spinoff:

How sweet it is.
Pastry junkies will get their fix when "Top Chef: Just Desserts" makes its debut sometime in 2010,
Variety reports. The spinoff comes on the heels of the hit show's celebrity-chef version, "Top Chef Masters," getting a second-season pickup.
Bravo execs say no host or judges are yet in place, but they will be selected in the coming weeks. With "Top Chef," "Masters" and now "Just Desserts," the hope is that there will be a version of "Top Chef" on the tube year-round.
Open casting calls for the new series begins today in Chicago and continues over the next few weeks in cities across the country, including New York Nov. 8.

Oh What A War - Episode 9 Results

Congratulations to the blue team

for the blindfold quick fire win. This was by far one of the hardest QF in TC history. Could you have done this? It took guts for them to let the $10,000 win ride into the elimination challenge.

Congratulations to Chef Michael V on the elimination win. You picked up the blue teams $10,000 and a cookbook. It was a true team player who then shares the $10,000 with the other members of his team. ( even though your bro said to keep it).

Ah Chef Laurine, there is always a casualty of war and many times it is the person at the front of the house. We wish you the best and hope you drop by our little kitchen.
So what did you think?

Here Comes Season Two of Top Chef Masters!

From the LA Times:

Get ready for another throwdown among culinary greats: Bravo has ordered a second season of "Top Chef Masters."
The first-season finale of the "Top Chef" spinoff drew 2.6 million viewers and averaged 2.2 million over its 10-episode run. Bravo said "Masters" ranks as the network's highest-rated reality competition series debut.
A Season 2 lineup of chef'testants has not been set, but host Kelly Choi and the show's three judges -- Gael Greene, James Oseland and Jay Rayner -- will be back.
New episodes are expected to debut some time in 2010.
Chicago's
Rick "King of Mexican cuisine" Bayless was crowned the show's inaugural winner after defeating a lineup of top competitors including finalists Hubert Keller and Michael Chiarello.

Top Chef Looking For Love

from our mailbox:

New York Time:
Top Chef season five runner-up Stefan Richter is featured in Time Out New York, where's put himself out there in order to find love. We suppose his bro-mance with fellow contestant Fabio cooled down, because now he's ready to score a date with a lady who is "no drama."

Stefan was, without a doubt, the cockiest contestant on season five, and that attitude doesn't seem to have been only for the cameras. He even claims that he can make even hot dogs sexy ("It's all about presentation").

If you want to see whether he's all talk, check out—and email!—Stefan here:

TIP: Don't bother if you're straight-edge. Stefan is very firm on this rule: "I would never date a chick who doesn't drink." Of course you wouldn't.

In addition, the LA Times is reporting that Chef Stefan The Review: Former 'Top Chef' contestant Stefan Richter earns two stars .

Chef Todd English In The News - Wedding is off

After three years... he is single again.

Chef Todd English, cancelled his wedding two weeks ago. Click HERE to find out why.

But it is sad to say, things got worst.

From the New York Post:
"Chef Top English decided to press assault charges against his jilted fiancée because she did a tell-all interview with The Post that he felt damaged his reputation, his own lawyer admitted yesterday.
Acting on a domestic-violence complaint, cops slapped the cuffs on Erica Wang -- the woman English ditched at the altar two weeks ago -- and charged her with slicing an inch-long gash above his eye with the sharp edge of a metal wristwatch"

Click HERE to read it all.

We are so sorry Chef English and wish both you and Ms Wang the best.

So Sorry Ash!

This week Chef Ash packed his knives.

Chef Tom said on his blog, " All in all, in Ash’s, we wound up with a dish that we did not expect from this competition. Plainly put, it was just not good. Just because Mike Isabella suggested that Ash cook something cold ...? C’mon. Ash could’ve roasted the pork loin whole with herbs, wrapped it in bacon, and served it with polenta and bitter greens, and it could’ve been a great dish. Instead we were served something very bland and not very pork-y, that didn’t work at all with the wine with which he was supposed to pair it. Ash spent his time in this competition telling us that he had not yet had a chance to cook “his own food,” yet looking around at all times to see what everyone else was doing instead of just presenting his own style. He’s been very unsure of himself, has second-guessed himself throughout, and that lack of confidence has come out in his food; his cooking has not only been tentative in feel but in flavor. And never more so than in this challenge."
We wish you the best Chef Ash and hope you drop by our little kitchen
